Catalyst Solutions’ Ground Radios Team is an integral member of the Tactical Communications Systems (TCS) contract, supporting Portfolio Manager, Command Element Systems (PfM CES), Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC). The team consists of former communicators, maintainers, logisticians, and acquisition subject matter experts—including a former project officer—with decades of communication systems support and operations experience.
The Catalyst team provides program management, acquisition, engineering, and logistical expertise for the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) capability; an upgrade facilitated through a series of Engineering Change Proposals (ECP). MUOS is the replacement for the Ultra High Frequency Follow-On (UFO) satellite constellation which has exceeded lifecycle expectancy. As this system continues to degrade, transition to MUOS is a critical migration to a more capable and secure tactical satellite capability. The Catalyst team is coordinating with MCSC, SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SSC LANT), and Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC), in the development and integration of this capability. Fielding and sustainment efforts are already underway for approximately 8,000 systems within the MBR II Family of Systems (FoS) which include: AN/PRC-117G, AN/VRC-114 (V)1, AN/VRC-114 (V)2, and AN/MRC-145B. Additionally, the MUOS capability will support future Marine Corps Tactical Radio Systems that are part of the Multi-Channel Radio FoS.
“Catalyst Solutions is proud to partner with Skylla Engineering, providing direct acquisition support services to Product Manager Office (PdMO) for TCS. This effort supports all programs assigned to PdMO TCS. The core of our mission is to effectively equip the warfighter with enhanced communication capabilities,” said Bill Drew, Program Manager, Catalyst Solutions’ Ground Radios Team.
